The Neighbourhood
Siegfriedstraße is a tree-lined street situated right in the heart of Neukölln and within the much sought-after Körnerkiez. The charming Körnerpark is at the heart of the local community and can cause much confusion as you wonder whether you have been transported to the English countryside, or are still indeed within the heart of Berlin. Coffee Shops such as "Leuchtstoff" can provide welcome motivation. Emserstraße just around the corner is a hub of creativity with plenty of outdoor life in the summertime whilst Kranoldplatz also holds farmers as well as a flea market. Given that the area is not a major thoroughfare it is relatively traffic-free. The busy Hermannstrasse has all possible high street shopping and grocery opportunities. Only a further short walk away is the now-famous Schillerkiez which is teeming with trendy cafes, bars, and restaurants that will carry on being busy well into a warm Berlin night, whilst the old village atmosphere of central Rixdorf is also within an easy walk. Transit links couldn´t be better with both the U8 & S Bahn ring accessed around the corner at Hermannstraße, and the U8 at Neukölln station.
