The Neighbourhood

Situated on the border of both popular Prenzlauer Berg & Friedrichshain, the local area has seen a massive transformation since the early 1990s

Richard-Ermisch-Straße is situated within the Alte Schlachthof Gelände, which was a large industrial complex that ceased operations in 1991. The location quickly became popular for cultural events until many of the buildings were deemed no longer safe. The complex transformed again to make way for modern housing with many townhouses and apartments created for the newly arriving families, hoping to make a home in this popular, trendy, and lively part of the city. Great care was taken to retain some of the original protected structures, for the provision of ample outdoor park and recreational space, as well as new shops to cater to the new arrivals including Kaufland, Rossmann, Toom & Rewe. Shopping amenities are all within easy walking distance. If you wish to get out into the Berlin culinary, nightlife, or boutique shopping scenes, the pulsing hearts of Friedrichshain, Prenzlauer Berg & Mitte are all within easy reach providing ample youthful energy whenever required.

Transport links are excellent with the S-bahn at Storkower Straße giving access to the S-Bahn ring, and the U5 from Frankfurter Tor extending all the way to Hauptbahnhof. Don´t forget the nearby tram connections to Warschauer Straße & Eberswalder Straße.
